I aligned with out the couplers on the pipe for a while (best visual on angles) but eventually caved and put them on. This is the waterbox, tank, and pipe locations in rearward most motor mount.

Now the motor is slide to the forward most mount (simulating both RRP spacers). You can see the WB to pipe gap for reference.

The closeness to the tanks caused concern so I bolted the FW cover back on to check.

After straightening up the tank, I was able to move it forward some more and find the sweet spot where nothing would hit anything with good clearances in and motor position. Still, I will turf and pad everything :)

It was too late to go find carbon, resin, and mix up glue. I decided to stop rushing (reminding myself I have time) and went to play with my ebox mount ideas. I still am seeing mixed feedback on drilling through the side of the hull to mount he ebox. I'm not comfortable with it. Some "big builders" do while some don't. Also not all Rickter layups are the same. The thinnest part of my entire hull is right where you would drill to mount a ebox.

Check these out everything from McMaster. Thoughts? Will they hold? They claim 50lbs each. I bought a variety, but after checking things, I'll have to use the single stud ones. I will also obviously have to cut the studs down. These UFOs are 1/4-20 and the nuts are .25 tall so they grab 5 threads. I've used these without the rubber mounts to hold the fuel pump to my other ski for 3 years with no issue. I hope it will hold the ebox!

Don't drill through the hull for the ebox. I did it on my XFR and regret it. My ebox is secure there but there are other options.

My Edge has a Rickter total loss internal mount (some carbon mount) with SJ ebox brackets that my ebox is mounted to, all without any holes in the hull.

Up to you, but I'd try to avoid any additional holes.

something wrong with that coupler !!!!! send it back !
Yeah I'm debating keeping it. I have a full set of OEMs on hand and half set of cold fusions.

Of your ebox has the 3 bosses, you can tap threads and bolt the bracket to the box and then use the 2 ends as the mounting locations to the hull.
Shut the front door! I'm going to have to look at that setup and see if I prefer it. Good tip, thanks!

Frustration set in on my build. Some from outside sources but also from the pressure and expectations I put on my self. The ski is on the water and I'm almost ready for my trip. I'm still focused on it.

I choose to pause the thread at risk of complaining and adding no value for my time or yours. The best value I can add to the community is to take my time this Fall and go back through my pictures (I took a ton!) and finish the thread discussing challenges and solutions so others can benefit.

While I enjoy showing what I've done the real goal is to give back to the community that has helped me. I hope to help others learn from my successes and failures and maybe inspire someone to build.

Ski ya later!

Beautiful hull. I just recently built a xfr. You can check out my build thread also if you get stumped on anything or if you decide you want to change something

Thank you. I saw your build prior and it helped inspire me to go for it. Great thread and info. I see you've been making some more progress. Thanks for sharing!

^^^^^ take him up on that. Mainy for selfish reasons for putting a face to the icon
I'm a little camera shy at the moment. I have a pimple on the end of my nose. Kinda looking like rudolph right now. Mighta been a hot chip off the mill, or weld splatter from under a trailer.
(it's really just a zit)

Whatever, offer stands.

2lick, you're about 2.5 hours away from me. I have a full machine/ fab shop. Feel free to bring the ski and use what I have, to complete this ski.

I'd love to get a look at this thing firsthand.

Very nice of you to offer and I appreciate that. The ski is complete build and ready for my trip. When I'm home in November, I plan to tear it back apart and redo some parts while I rebuild/replace the motor.

If your that close you'll have to make it to one of our lake cookouts next year.
