I have a original onewheel that I've had for just over 3 years. I don't get to use it all that much and have just under 200 miles on it. They are a ton of fun and are the closet thing you can get to snowboarding. I use my on and off road about the same. I took 1 had slam while riding on grass banks when the nose dropped. I hear the new 1 are better.

Like Quinc said, they are awesome. I know it's a lot of cash to lay out, but IMO it's well worth it. I have a OneWheel + (5-7 mile range) and plan on eventually getting a Onewheel + XR (12-18 mile range). The operation is like any board sport (Snow, Wake, Surf, Skate) using heel/toe with some balance. Don't be discouraged if you bust your @ass a few times while learning, it only gets better!

@mike b went for it last time at Havasu too!

@chadman154 could probably offer some input as well.

The xr is the one I've had my eye on. It is a large chunk of change to spend on something like that. Have you had any issues with yours?

I rode one for about 5 mins at the SIA show in denver a few years back. Was pretty cool, easy to ride if you have done any board sports in the past. Would love to have one, but they are not cheap.

The XR is the one to get, even if you hate it, you hardly lose anything on resale, just look on Ebay. No issues with mine, but it's nice to know that they have a 1,000 mile warranty. Both of my boards have over 250 miles and going strong.

OW was doing demos at the Pismo surf comp during the same time as the freeride so I got to try one. Pretty easy to pick up and I was jumping the curb after 5 minutes of use. Guy i was talking to in the booth was talking about how he mostly rode his on downhill mountain bike trails and it handles 3-5ft drops without issue. Figure you can get a fully ride able fun item you can take anywhere for the same cost as a lay down exhaust..
