TPE Cylinder damage

Pictures show the damage. The Tpe 964 developed an air leak at the seam between the cases. The engine must have been running lean as the pistons exploded into a million pieces.
What can be done to repair the cylinder damage, if anything at all

Also- after tearing down the cases which are simply Yamaha 701 cases modified and epoxied, it makes me wonder if there are any cases out there that could be used as an upgrade. Something beefier and metal rather than epoxy..

Definite weld repair and replating. Im a full TPE dealer. Stock most parts needed for your 964,
Plus fully capable to handle the rebuild if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.
Fully inspect all parts and do a full evaluation to make 100% sure the air leak your stating is the root cause?
Then plan your repair accordingly? Feel free to contact me if you need assistance.

I know, it is broken, so it needs to be welded. But why does it need to be welded?
It has been my experience that a Nikasil can sustain more abuse than that, and not
loose any HP. Nikasil is a very durable coating.

Is chipping a real concern? Or is that a ring end gap location?

Good Advice! I would be surprised if an "air leak" was the only cause.

How many times did your engine seize before your "pistons exploded into a million pieces ."
