Sad thing is, I have a few friends that are due hard Auburn fans. They said they would have rather lost and have Malzan fired than have to have him as coach for another year.

I want to say "hell yes, bk came to his senses" but I won't lie, Clemson scares the piss out of me and it's because their conference is terrible and blew everyone out....except that one game they won against NC due to incompetence on NC's part.
I'm not a betting man but I would bet Vegas is crapping there pants on the line for that game. No one knows who clemson is.
And btw as far as I know clemson still runs the same defensive scheme they did when they blew out ohio st 31-0 the last time they played in the semi in 2016

You are giving him a lot of credit...if they still suck after 2 years it won't be Lane looking to move on. If he gets them in the hunt for a conference title consistently well hes head coach of a P5 in the SEC and potential yearly playoff candidate..No one leaves that!?
Like bk said about his Auburn friends, they want the coach fired yet they have their shot every year they just assume a coach isnt good unless they are saban or dabo who are running all time great dynasties.
1 to 2 conference losses and a bowl game is a coin toss and a game of poker away from play off.
My point is I think lane hangs around there a while or gets fired
