I'm not gonna post a pic of what my workspace looks like right now or you guys wouldn't be my friends any more. OR I'd be your best friend since it'd make y'all feel so much better about your setups. Oh, and have any of you ever had a Black and Decker roto-tool (or whatever it's called..it's like a rip off of a Dremel) burst into flames in your hands??? Apparently they are allergic to fiberglass dust.

Went from a 24’x40 workshop to this rental last August. Working on buying a lake house so hopefully we’ll close on one next week. First order of business is building a workshop that’s better then my last one.

are all of your skis new? If not how the hell do you keep the hulls so white? Not being a smart ass. Serious question. The tannin in my lake discolors the crap out of mine.

Haha. We have no cypress or any other trees that cause tannin issues. The lake I live on and ride 95% of the time is crystal clear and spring fed.

I still think my favorite tool that I always wonder why I waited so long to buy is my Harbor Freight 20 ton shop press. I still head to the vise with sockets and a hammer then think WTF, I have a press.

I have wanted a press for over 2 decades.
I know I would use it, but I never want to give up the floor space.
The little tabletop 20ton would be a decent compromise but I fear it would be to restrictive to be of any use.

This has been one of the best tools I have bought yet, and the new door tracks I put in let me open the door with a car at full height. Next tool purchase is another small lathe to replace the one I sold last year. Running out of space to store all my tools, trying to come up with better storage solutions for my small footprint garage.

Is there a manual lockout for that lift?
Yeah. It has them at seven different positions so you can lock it at various heights. Has made working at home so much easier. Pulled a trans on that delsol in under an hour the other night. I can pull right over it with my truck if I ever get the rest of the garage cleaned up I might be able to park in there.
Does this leave you good access for say a longitudinal transmission swap? How many pounds is it rated for?
6600 lbs. Picks up my first gen tundra without any problem. There are some posts online about ways to pull a rwd trans on one of these. I think the best way to do something like that would be to build wheel stands and use lift to sit the vehicle on those then slide lift out. There is room to get in there to remove bolts and such but nit a good way to pull the whole assembly. I have gotten to the point where my work at home is easy things I can do for quick cash. Brakes timing belts lift kits,engine swaps etc. I try not to do anything here that will tie me up more than a couple days.
So my latest tool is a copy cat. Swag offroad make this nice lil bandsaw stand, I didnt want to pay 60 bucks for it so I bought a saw used a scrap of 1/4 inch plate and made my own. Big issue I have ran into is I need someone who can make some nice crisp bends in plate this thick.
