    Ocean Pro rideplate. The one with skegs at 60 degrees or so, (it had some 'runners' under it too, as I recall) it was not legal for closed course racing back in the day but it was great for carving. If your buddy has tons more 550 experience you won't beat him the first time. : (

    Looks like a billet bodied Buckshot? Not cheap. About conversion skis, the 440/550 hull just seems so boggy with the bigger case/crank in it (650conversion long time ago) Nothing flies & bounces off waves/changes direction like a 550......I'd keep the sxi intact & mod the 440 hull/engine myself.

    That pipe/K&N filter combo may require larger jets in the carb.... both for low & high speed circuits. Not a 750 person, someone here will know what jet #s to start with. at least it isn't seized !

    all I got for a '85 440 rider is fall to the left, try to keep the fresh air snorkel dry. also, knee ride a bit to give the siphon bilge pressure to work with. Three minutes of that then back to drowning yourself...........
