Best Superjet Mods

I have a 2013 superjet and am planning to race in the novice stock ski PWX Hartwell race in July. What mods are worth buying, what mods are fluff? Right now I'm pretty sure I want a skat trak intake grate and front sponsons.

Worx 205/228 or blowsion/skat trak intake grate. rideplate of some sort, I like the blowsion or PWC fiberglass sj plates. HFC is junk imo.

Some sort of steering (ideally a complete pole setup) and some better matting. That will get you going.

Imo I’d wait on sponsons, not totally necessary..
The stock matting is so terrible it’s almost a hazard when racing. Look into jettrim. Side lifters, rear wedge, and front center hump are personal preference but I would not buy a mat kit without all three.

It all depends on how much money you want to throw at it to start with.

I know this isn't the correct thread for this but I noticed you are from around Hartwell, I rented a lake house on Hartwell with a private dock for fathers day weekend and was gonna be just grilling and ripping skis! I have 4 practice buoys and was for sure trying to have some fun. Anyone who is around is welcome to stop by! Ill probably post a real thread in a proper category later.

I’ll have to check my calendar. Thanks for the invite!

Steering, OVP is quite nice once you get used to it. I personally prefer 0 degree bars.
Love the PWR ride plate, on rails: https://prowatercraftracing.com/product/hfc-yamaha-superjet-race-plate-2008/
The Watercross of Texas double scoop grate has some serious hookup, but aggressive: https://prowatercraftracing.com/product/watercross-of-texas-superjet-waveblaster-grate/
PWR tray extension with mats really makes a difference in keeping your back foot in the tray: https://prowatercraftracing.com/product/hfc-super-jet-ergo-tray-extension/

First thing you need to do is go thru the rule book for the class you intend to run, and plan your mods accordingly?
