FX-1 Broke College Kid FX1 Build

Just picked up this fx1 hull along with a bunch of parts for it. Plan on putting a 701 with a head and coffman sizzler in it. Just ordered a few things so will post more soon.

Mocked everything up to see how the pipe will fit, and everything clears good. This is a 650 motor, but in here just for test purposes.

That’s a pretty solid starting point - all the hard stuff seems to have been done.

Got alot done today. Cleaned out the hull and filled it up with water to check for leaks. The bottom of the hull will need a little bit of body work but nothing major. Used some 550 gas tank hooks and bent them out to work on the superjet. Was able to fit up the waterbox, gas tank, battery box, motor mounts, and get the steering cable in. The scupper flap needs to be replaced, but when I took it off a screw broke and the top left of the scupper needs to be fixed. Any advice on how to fix it? I was thinking about reglassing it and then round it up with a grinder.

Got the pump together today, no hammering required. Going to try and clean up the vanes a bit.

Got the prop on today and put the wear ring on, and its hitting pretty bad. I think the wear ring is swollen, hoping its not a bent driveshaft. Also got the throttle and a 550 throttle cable in.

The wear ring was definitely swollen. I was able to take off a little bit of material to make it work. This will be temporary until I get a new prop for this thing.

Had that in my 07 superjet, it sucks. Putting in new prop when I get a different wear ring.

Think this ski is slowly turning into a kawasaki.... Had a 650 start and stop switch laying around, so figured mind as well save $50+ and use that. Probably going to paint it black if I keep it on.

Throw a JS550 pole bracket on it and really confuse people.

Got the exhaust hose on and a test fitting a few other things. I had to extend the exhaust hose because the metal outlet was shortened that goes into the bulkhead. I ran all the cables and wires that go to the pole behind the back of the exhaust hose. because it looked cleaner. Little worried tho because they are touching the rubber exhaust hose. Not sure if it that hose gets hot enough to cause any damage, let me know. Waiting on pump bolts to come in and a few other things.

Slapped some paint on the bottom half of the hull. Looks much better then what it was before.
