After building a few carbon hulls based on the SJ for Patrick at Xmetal ,I wanted to do a ski for me that would be a freeride- freestyle rig with a few mods to it : wider lower foot tray, toe kick (thanks Jetmaniac), pole further forward and lower, wider bottom. Patrick and the Xscream crew (Chuck,Mike,Radney and Brandon) hooked me up with a 8mill x 83=822cc rockin motor! not just that but they rigged out the whole ski from plate to pole, Rick and Sons did a killer job on the turf. So I'm a poser as far as the buid up goes. The ski came in at 53lbs before paint and was built with inter. med. mod. carbon, preimpregnated with epoxy, vaccum bagged and baked @ 165F . It will be a flat water boat most of the time so I kept it fairly light. Other than the motor and hull it's not a ultra high dollar set up, MSD enhancer, stock flywheel, stock waterbox, stock pump, Xmetal pole, stock tank. Pump gas , long range and quiet. But I have few trick things I want to try after a few tanks are burned and Worlds stuff is done. Big thanks to all that helped get ski built! Tem

9k for the hull

looks sweet thou

Tem knows his sh*t when it comes to Carbon. Your not going to find a lighter, super strong, carbon Ski out there. I have been beating the piss out of my 54lb Carbon hull built by Tem in the surf. Flatwater ski that has never seen flat water!

60lbs with the hood!

Tem thanks for building me a bad A** ski!!!!!!!

soon to be a 1000cc monster!!!!!!

Hey Madmat I'll try and find some toe kick photos, It's killer for surf style and gets CG further forward which is really nice on a shorted hull. It was Chris's ( Jetmaniac) idea and it is very good ya. Dag I Know 7-9 k is crazy and we should build them out of S glass or E glass but the weight to strength ratio goes out the window and I like working on the crazy stuff more. Tem

Fals3illusion Dude if you can turf a entire ski you can build about anything, Rad idea. Tem
ha ha ha doubt it, turf is easy, just contact cement, scissors, and a rubber mallet!

that seems ALOT more knowlege!

just curious, what do those cost to build in materials?

if u dont wanna tell its cool just curious if im ever interested in building my own one day

Thanks for the props guys. The carbon is very expensive, it's about $68. a yard and it takes 21 yards to do a 55lbs hull, full on bomb proof surf ski takes more. The epoxy prices always goes up even if crude is half the $. aaarrrrr

If I come up for the VA ride maybe Tem will have a hull I can bring up to show off.
