DIY Total loss or MSD TL upgrade box 270USD?

I had my coupler come loose last year too. Vibration loosened it, it wasn't the couplers fault. In my case, it would loosen any coupler.

First I noticed a vibration in the throttle lever, found the rear carb came loose on the speed plate, nearly falling off. Tightened it and tested ok, 10 min later won't hardly accelerate, find the carb alignment bracket falling off.. find the butterfly out of sinc next, only pto carb blade opens. Water test again ok.
Come back in & find the root cause, the billit cylinder was coming loose, a titanium cylinder to case bolts head broken off and bolt backed out all the way and 2 other cylinder bolts loosing torque...

Just got my zeeltronic cdi installed on an old wb2 I bought for parts.. stupid easy install and the spark is bright, blue, and consistent! All stock otherwise but revs noticeably faster. Currently still running charging setup but I’ve got another flywheel to lighten so I’ll have the best of both worlds. So far so good!!

I'm over here still waiting on my oil block off plate so I can install mine.. =/

With the flywheel do you have to grind the third lump off or is glued? hammer and chisel?

update on cdi install: b2 ran perfectly all day on Labor Day with the zeeltronic.. little more snap off the bottom and definitely more power in the mid range on an otherwise totally stock b2. I just hardwired the cdi and left battery connected for a few days out of curiosity to see how badly it drained the battery. Cranked ski up this morning with no hesitation or sign of a drained battery. I'll be disconnecting the battery when I put the system in my RIP over the winter. If anybody is on the fence about this system...go for it...its so simple and works so well for so little money and the ability to go from charging to TL in a matter of minutes is too cool!

how long does the battery last without a charge on this system as total loss?

Get a lithium battery- I use WPS and haven’t killed a battery in a full day of riding yet. I still charge after each ride day to be safe though.
