foothold slop

I think my footholds have a little too much slop... I was trying to do nosestabs last weekend, and my feet kept on coming out of the holds when I wiped out... I didnt really come close to doing a stab yet... but hope to this weekend...

Can someone try to describe to me how tight your foot should be inside the foothold? I can kick my foot in, but it still might be a little on the loose side... I think this will make tricks more difficult? feet might fall out too much and I could get hurt possibly too...

If anyone wants to go riding this weekend let me know... I have a GREAT lake to go riding at around Akron, OH.... its already nice and warm and the weather looks 1/2-way decent....

Eric,
What kind of shoes are you wearing? I wear Asics wrestling shoes and I have plenty of room but there is enough traction that my feet do not slip out.
I used to wear old running shoes which filled up the footholds a little more and had pretty good traction.

Are you running WCF holds?

Pad them up good, slap some more turf around them. I like to kick in my toes so they get stuck. When you bail your feet still come out if you want them too.

Outward foot pressure like Nikad said does make a difference, hard to remember sometimes but will be natural after a while.

cool... I will keep trying....

Right now I am trying "bronco 180s"... I guess they are the nose stab without a wake.... I try to watch videos to get ideas of technique but when I try them I just kinda wipe out... lol...

I hope to have better luck this weekend... I am trying the bronco 180s first because it seemed it would be the basic technique and from there I could go for more air off of wakes...

Nose stabs were being done years (10+) before anyone had foot holds. If you're coming out, you're relying too much on the holds.

yup..

coming unglued from the ski while going inverted is why i now have xft holds. i kept coming out of my kickers which felt dangerous . now i will have to train my self to never let go of the bars because my feet will probably want to stay. trading one risk for another i guess.
