FX-1 Fx1 cutting out

Recently got an fx1 and it runs great except for around 1/3 throttle. If you just hold it there it feels like it’s cutting out. Doesn’t die. Don’t think it’s a misfire though. Will also do it if you blip the throttle like three times, at the end it will cut out. Not really a major problem just more annoying than anything. Thought it might be a lean condition so I brought the bottom screw about 1/4 turn out. Didn’t seem to help a lot. Has the stock single carb. Haven’t had anything apart yet so I’m not sure what the jetting is. Was wondering if it could be anything besides the fueling. Like reeds sticking or something else
Ski has a b-pipe, mad Enhanser, and Ada head. Pretty stock besides that.
Let me know what you think. Thanks in advance

The first thing I do on a new to me ski is go through the fuel system. Check the tank and hoses, replace fuel filter and rebuild the carb with only genuine Mikuni parts including the needle and seats. Almost every one I have checked had neglected carbs. It's cheap insurance for the summer.

Also replace the check valve on your tank breather before anything. I have seen a bad check valve cause this issue many times. Cheap and easy fix

Where do you get your kits from. I don’t trust the eBay kits and usually go for like Atlantic jetsports

I have been getting them from Amazon but JetManiac is a one stop shop here if you need anything else.
Keep in mind the kits don't include the needle and seat.

The gentleman I got it from told me it was only jetted. So I’m guessing it’s the needle and seat sticking at lower rpms and not giving any fuel.

Also the low speed screws will not change anything past idle. They are technically an idle mixture screw not a low speed screw like most people think.

I see. I mainly did it to see if it made any difference at all from possible altitude difference. Would the high speed screw change anything then from about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle? Or am I putting too much stock in the screws that are meant for fine tuning and not jetting hahah

With the mods you have, a bigger than stock low speed jet and a lower than stock pop off should have been done at that point.......If not ....these are the two variables that could also be causing your issue.

I know it was jetted based on advice from ski clinic. What he put in it I’m not sure. And I don’t think pop off was done. So I think I have it narrowed down to the needle and seat not popping open at that point. Like it’s just on the line between the two circuits and it just doesn’t want to pop all the way. Not giving it enough fuel and cutting out. That would explain why it’s totally fine at all other throttle

Contact JetManiac here, he can get you all the soft parts, base gasket and the correct jetting and needle and seat for your setup. He really is a 1 stop shop and is awesome.

Is it specific to an rpm or a throttle position? If it's a throttle position that sounds to be exactly like one or more if the little progression holes in the carb gummed up. I would clean carb and check rest of fuel system while you're at it. Not a big deal to do.

Specific throttle position. And I need to open it up and see what’s been done
