FX1 Intermittent Bogging after subs

FX1 with 701 61x and Factory B Pipe. Ski runs great until I sub it making a left hand turn. It will then start to bog out and never full recovers. I ran it for 15 min then deliberately dove it to see if the issue arose and it did. I notice that if I dry out the hull completely over a few days and ride again there is no issue. Ebox shows no signs of water.

Originally I thought that it was a CDI/Coil issue. I am going to replace the coil this week and see if that helps. I cut back my current cables and sealed the connections with silicon to ensure no water was getting into the spark wires.

Does it clear out if you hold it WOT? Usually after subs or other water logging tricks, a splash of water in the carbs can take a while to clear out. What flame arrestor are you running?
 
X2 on the flame arrestor, I run a tau ceti but I also taped off all the holed in the hood now and such, breaths just fine with b piped 701 single or dual 44s (I have 2 setups). Before that, the flame arrestor definitely got water, when it was all stock it was really bad, with he b pipe it was bad but wot would clear it out after a little brawling around and then I put the high comp head on and it almost never happens, but then I taped the holes and now I have to do like 2 subs, some turn subs, and a long fountain all simultaneously in order to get the ski to splash a little water on the carb and need to clear it out.

It's the aftermarket one not positive which at the moment can look later. I've tried WOT but it never seems to clear out.

It's not getting a ton of water in either from what I can just just a couple small puddles at the bottom, not enough for the aftermarket bilge to pump out. I didn't think I could tape off my hood and still run ok?

Tape off the hood holes? and it still breathes? How or what should I do to try that.

I have no idea why anyone would use any AM flame arrestor for freestlye, except maybe the new 701 Industries one. Stock keeps water out, AM invites it in.

I purchased it this way and had no idea it could be an issue. If I buy and install stock would I need to re jet/tune the carbs significantly?

Not sure about having to rejet. Go back to oem and remove a couple screens. You might have to change your popoff pressure a little bit.
 
haha im not an expert but it sounds like your sinking the mothership. i cant do the waterfall trick for more then 2 seconds before my ski wants to sink and run like dogdoo. if you really want the best bang for your buck id get one of the ocean intakes, its like a snorkel on a truck, if you sink it its still pulling air and not water unless its completely submerged.

Alright so I figured out the hull was filling faster than normal with water from the stock bilge because the hose and 90 fitting were dropping down and essentially reverse siphoning water. Zip tied it up high, all better.
 
Sometimes if you dont have the shaft coupler cover it will fling water all around in the engine compartment and make it run like poop i had this problem. I put shaft cover on and a water proof prescreen on te flame arrester and its all good know

*SOLVED*
Ok, so after like 4 years of this never actually clearing up for good, I tore the ski down one more time and noticed, by chance that the exhaust hose to the hull exit pipe had a very weak spot at the 45 bend from the water box. I replaced it with a rad dudes silicone and can positively confirm that this was my issue all these years. It was pinching off, and choking the motor.

BTW, I run stock flame arrestors on both the '94 SN SJ and '95 FX-1 with no issues and prefer them over the aftermarket type.

Thank you sir, I too am running stock now. Same jetting, 1.5 H and 1 low and it did 51mph on the GPS yesterday. I know what it's like to find threads that are never finished, so I wanted to make sure I didn't contribute to that. Than you for the kind words, happy riding.
