I haven't used my go pro 4 black +, in 2 years. But i really think its a great camera.
I guess for the normal user the diffrence from the last 2-3 models would not be significant. 90% of jetski riding has good light. if you also use it for biking in the woods. a newer version might be better, wich i suppose have better light sensitivity :)

Everything after the Hero 3 black Edition I believe has 4k capability and good quality footage in full HD. It doesn't have a display but once you know how to aim and use your phone(Livestreams footage to the phone) to setup there is no real need for it. Get a swimming aid for the cover. Safet mine twice.

I would get the black version with changeable batteries. If you have two batteries and a Powerbank you can basically film all day. Charge one while you use the other one. If the battery goes bad you don't need to buy a new camera or need to bother opening it up and replacing it.

got the hero 7 black for christmas and I am super impressed! soooo many new features over my old 3+, best part is the spare battery and dual battery charger, no more worrying about forgetting to plug it in the night before.

Dual battery charger and spare batteries are available for all models. If you buy one battery and a dual or triple charger its below 20$ if they are off brand. Aside from the better footage, (better low light, slow motion and resolution) which can be argument enough, what other features make the 7 a much better action camera?

Hero 7 white and silver does not have removable batteries.

Between the 7 and 3+ or 7 and 6? I dont know anything about the 6 but compared to my 3+ the big differences on the 7 are what you mentioned and the fact that it has an integrated touch screen, the ability to zoom, waterproof up to 33ft without any sort of additional case, and can stream live directly to social media via bluetooth plus the new added stability to greatly reduce vibration/shakiness. Imo its overall a much nicer camera

3+ and 7. Oh yea I heard the stabilization improved big time. The ability to zoom was not on my radar. Those 2 points a side from the improved image quality would mean the most to me.

My bad. I only thought about the removable models (black series). Thanks for the correction. By the way did you buy something yet or did we manage to confuse you even more about the different models^^
Not yet. Way on fence. Have been for years. When I get home from work last thing I want to do is get on computer. Not sure if I want to get into editing.

you might really enjoy the hero 7, links right to your phone so you can easily clip footage and post it right to social media, quickstories on the gopro app is pretty cool too.
