I wear a cascade lacrosse helmet. All closed cell foam so it weighs the same when wet and drains instantly. Its smaller than a moto or mtb so it pulls on your neck less when you hit the water. I also like the chin strap instead of a neck strap. Seems less restrictive when I'm winded. Less protection but I wear it a lot more. Might have something to do with that last round of stitches.

Fox Rampage Pro Carbon MIPS. A lot of vents. Super light and has plastic bindings and HD buttons. Visors are also really durable. With dealer discount you are looking at $259-300 Regular $499
If you plan on doing surf don't buy regular helmets e.g. fox or 661, they quickly will rust...in no time.

Look for rampage pro helmets

If you google it, you can find it. They're a little pricey, but WAAAAAAAAAY cheaper than a plastic surgeon and dental reconstruction.

Thanks, I was surprised I easily found that exact link... They are pricey, I like the face shield though and Jrs used Equipment link...thanks

Well my copy and past of the link won't work

thank you for showing the LaCrosse helmets! Pretty cool!
I just bought one off the sidelineswap link I posted above. There are a ton of them listed on it!
Found a new one that was purchased for a collage kid that decided not to play. Still brand new!
$70 shipped. There are deals on there if you look! I stumbled upon MTB downhill helmets also.

do the cages bolt on and off the cascades? That cage would be nice when trying new stuff but every day riding that would get quite annoying

I've been running this helmet for quite a few years, it's a Bell BMX helmet I got from Wal-Mart. (Like $35-$50 can't remember) Pulled the visor off and stainless steel screwed a motorcycle face shield to it. It's got plenty of scratches on the shield where it protected my face from the bars/pole and keeps the water out of my eyes while riding. I intentionally left a gap on the underside to let air flow in the case that the shield should fog up at all. (On a side note, I've been told I look like anything from Darth Vader, to Daft Punk while riding )
