Keto and Intermittent Fasting

I just started a keto diet. My shop neighbor has been telling of it from the day we met. He's extremely intelligent (scary smart) and for some time I thought this keto stuff was all a fad. Well, he showed me pics of his former self and what was most fascinating was the day a client of his came in that hadn't seen him for two years, the client walked past Steve not recognizing him. In under two years Steve went from 398 lbs to 190 lbs. Yea, those are the numbers, and he has pics to go with it. Well, I had to put on my suit last week and since last year it doesn't fit. Not buying a new suit so -diet it is. I hate dieting but Steve always talked about feeling full and liking the meal taste. Ok, I'll try.
I can go a day without eating and do cause I do forget to eat often when I'm focused on other stuff. Started Sat. and monday down 4lbs. but I'm not hungry and feel ok for a diet. I like reading everyone's posts and I am a newb to this so I'll just keep reading everyone else's experiences.

You’ll have to start after wavedaze because I’m pretty sure fireball doesn’t help ketosis.

for every gram of carbs you eat, your body stores like 3 grams of water with it. so if you stop eating carbs, you body automatically loses the water that was stored with the carbs that get burned. don't make the mistake of thinking just because the scale says you weigh less, that its fat loss, cause it aint. its water loss.
one pound of fat means 3500 calories. in order to lose one pound of fat a week, you have to decrease your calorie intake by 500 a day X 7 = 3500 calories.
and alcohol has 9 calories per gram, same as fat. protein and carbs have 4 calories per gram.

@TheBuzzard , good info and I knew about the water weight but, its just that this is the first time in awhile that the scale has move in a good direction. It's a start.

Got into keto eating in December of last year, down 32 pounds. I got stuck for a while until I went to a one meal a day plan. I can now lose as much weight as I want. Fasting has been a huge benefit to me. I've really improved every aspect of my health. Here is a doc on fasting everyone should see:

I lost about 20 lbs this time around (since October 2018). I am no longer tracking macros and am not staying in ketosis but am still very low carb and maintaining the same weight for several months. Anybody staying in true ketosis for more than a year?
