KVPI Finger Throttle Question

I hope this is the right place to post this thread, I figured the finger throttle helps make you go, so here it is. I bought a nice KVP! finger throttle for my one 'Blaster and it was missing the pin that the lever pivots on. If you have a KVPI lever sitting around, would you be so kind and measure the diameter and length of the pin. I need to get one, and I think it's about 8mm thick, but I can't say for sure. If anyone could confirm it and even have a source for them, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Mcmaster-Carr would likely be a great source once you know the diameter and length. They have just about every pin under the sun in just about every common material. They also have slightly oversized and slightly undersized pins in case the pin is a little off from a standard size or the hole is slightly worn.

Thanks, Josh. I checked all over their site, but no success. The pin diameter for the KVPI finger throttle is 7mm. I searched high and low online and there's no 7mm aluminum or stainless pin, so I might have to drill it out to accept a larger diameter pin like an 8mm.

I ream worn 6mm pins (.243) to (.250). Go 5/16" (.312) and you can tighten it up with an 8mm (.315) after a season.

This might not be worth the trouble but if you call them they can usually get you more than what you see on their website. They use suppliers for a lot of stuff and tend to not list every option on the site (leaving out uncommon sizes). If you call they can check with their supplier to see if they make something in your required size and then issue you a special part number so you can order it online in the future. I have done this at work but it is a hassle.

Bolt is a M5x16.

That's it! This one had me really stumped........I couldn't find a 7mm pin anywhere online after countless Google searches. I'll be getting one at the hardware store, along with a stainless lock nut. Thank you very much everyone for the replies.

there should be a plastic bushing in the lever.

You're right. I realized the 5mm bolt was too small. I ended up getting some of this 7mm OD aluminum tubing and it's just over 6MM on the ID so it'll work perfect. This is what I'll use to as the bushing. I may get the same material, but in bronze in the future.

Then I got this 6mm stainless, low profile shoulder allen bolt.

I should be all set now. This was quite the mystery to figure out, but I think it's solved now. Thanks again, everyone!
