My first AM build. Rickter XFR - Full Carbon

Hey yaw,

This is going to be my first aftermarket build so I figured I would do my best to document it. It's been quite the adventure getting here. Between global pandemics, mass riots and several panick attacks, I wasnt sure she would ever make it to me. But I'm happy to report she has finallly arrived.

Take your first look at my brand new one of a kind 2020 Full Carbon Rickter XFR!

A big thanks goes out to Taylor Curtis at TC Freeride for all his help with getting me this hull. I'm certainly not the easiest person to deal with but he put up with me and has been very helpful along the way!

good morning, when it measures hull length, very nice congratulations.

Sweet, big relief! Looks nice, is that regular hydro turf in the tray ? Are those wedges standard now, I forget ? Congrats
Thanks bro!

It deffinately looks like regular hydroturf. As for the wedges, I dont know for sure if they come standard on all the models, but I can tell you I didnt special order them. So I would assume that they do. 20200618_091346.jpg

The blue and orange graphic kit looks so good and makes the visual carbon pop! Makes me start to get a little antsy about waiting for my hull to get finished up

This RRP 155 pump shoe is a turd.... The aligemt of the hole in the center is a joke. It's so far off from the tunnel and the pump. I'm either gna have the lip of the pump sticking into the tunnel or I'm gna have to do some major grinding on the shoe or the hull. It looks like the original casting was fine but when they cleaned it up they bored it off center.

Its hard to see in the pic but the red line is the area I'm talking about.

Yea, it's hard to see in pictures. I tried a bunch of different angles. I'm pretty sure there aren't any pump tunnel options with the XFR, I would have gotten it if there was. According to Taylor the jig they use at the factory is from a 144 pump. No idea why they use a 144 but that's just what I was told.

So day one of this build did not go how I was hopping. Im still concerned about the alignment of the pump shoe relative to the tunnel and the pump. Maybe its just my OCD but I would really rather not have the lip on the front of the pump protruding about 0.175" into the intake tract. The area where it protrudes is right where the red lines in the photo below are. You can also see the misalignment of the shoe im talking about in this photo. Its the step right in-between the two red lines. If it were correct those two lines should match up. I will take some more photos this morning with the wear ring installed that might make it easier to see what im talking about. But I could really use some advice here. What should I do? If I try and remove enough material to move the whole shoe to the left then I am going to be left with a huge gap in-between the tunnel and the shoe, on one side, when in go to glue it up.

Maybe you got a bad shoe? I've never had any alignment issues with the 3 RRP shoes I've installed in different hulls. A jet dynamics wouldnt fit, that tunnel is too small, considering how that rrp is not fitting correctly.

Good looking ski.
