FX-1 Need a Front Hood Latch for 95 FX-1

I just came across this site and am in need of a Front Hood Latch for my 95 FX-1.... Mine broke many years ago and I have been using thick wire to hold the front down. I no longer want to rely on the wire to keep my hood secure anymore....lol I was wondering if anyone knows of where to get ahold of either a stock or aftermarket one...?

Thanks and Ive been riding the FX-1 for about 10 years now and its still going strong.... :)

What about modding the stock setup to just act like a hook in the front and use a brap strap to hold the tray side down. That's what I am working on and when I figure it out you can have my stock latch.

Hmmm I looked at the brap strap and it looks like an overpriced tie-down lol... oh but with turf on it ........My latch by the tray works great... Thats whats keeping it on lol... FX1 hood hook.jpgFX1 hood hook (1).jpg

I found these on a previous post, but how do you install it? Remove my old one and put this one in its place???

Thanks for the offer if I cant find anything I might take you up on the offer....Mine broke so long ago I dont remember how its attached... I dont see many FX-1's out here in Colorado.....

I recently just bought one of these for one of my fx1 using it with a brap strap. Only thing is i kinda wish for 60+ dollars it came with screws but Ace is the place

The brap strap is a glorified tie down. Go ahead and chince if you want but the brap strap is superior in needy webbing and a ss ratchet. For half the price of the wetracer part....oh and it included hardware!

I have used a harbor freight ratchet strap and one from lowes. Both suck and will bind and cause you more frustration than its worth. And the webbing isn't thick enough

i have a cold fusion front latch that i wont be using. use the jetmaniac brap strap. i just got one shipped for 35 bucks. they go new for 40?? great alternative.

Would you be willing to part with your cold fusion latch? I looked at my FX1 and how would I attach the brap to front hood? This is why im considering just a latch....

the brap strap comes with screws to mount. you would just drill to holes up front under the pole bracket and screw the straps to the body. then you mount the ratchet where you latch goes. i will get some pics of my cold fusion mount and let you know. the cold fusion mounts with 3 screws under you hood.

If you could send me a pic of yours installed ill know where to install it.... I am still thinking im going to replace the front latch, if you wanna sell your cold fusion one let me know....
