New starter options?

My starter in the RN fried.... I pulled it out today and its definitely done for.... Are there any good options for replacements besides OEM ones that cost $400? I also dont want a $40 amazon one that is going to leave me stranded in the middle of the lake.

Send it to Jetmaniac for a rebuild. Rebuild cost is nominal and it will be close to new. I’m running a JM rebuilt starter in my SJ and X2 with no issues so far. He also has rebuilt OEM starters I believe.

Jetmaniac has rebuilt OE fir $189 1 year warranty, plus other starters.. thrust has new mitsuba with billet rear cap, requires slight grinding on engine case casting for clearance fir $299

They have sales at thanksgiving etc and it brings the price down, think mine was $240... I bought in advance though.

I've already put an order in for a JM rebuilt one, everyone I've talked to said that's the way to go. If the original lasted 22 years I'm sure a rebuild will get me at least half that which is probably longer than the hull will be around haha
