If the plates come out not too damage, that's a possibility yeah.

Just leave the butterflies alone if you aren’t going to replace everything. I can’t believe people are suggesting to reuse those worn parts. There’s no way the tuning is going to be off THAT much no matter what throttle plates you get, it’ll take you 5 seconds to get it back running where you want it.

Use a dremel to grind down the end of the butterfly screws because they are mushroomed down to prevent them from ever being able to back out and go through your motor. The screws will come up really easily then. Replace it all.

Because he's been desperately searching for a source of new parts and can't find them.

And the experts on the thread have said that using the incorrect new parts that ARE available will cause incurable tuning problems.

“Incurable”

I’ve replaced 44 throttle shafts before, including ones from oem 760. Can’t say I’ve ever ran into an incurable low end hesitation.
