P&P performance aka PhilipClemmons

I wanted to share my experience with Phil at P&P performance. I bought a TPE 1105 and needed to get it dialed in before daytona, and after the gremlins we had at havasu I didnt want to have that happen again! I left my ski with Phil knowing he had helped Erik tune the original 1105 and it would be right. I had originally thought he would just get the motor running better than I could, I was in for a big surprise! Not only did the engine and total loss get tuned but prop nozzle and tail cone were all adjusted accordingly. Even though he said its only 85% with the time he had before daytona its still way better than I could have done in an entire summer of tuning myself. So if tuning isnt your strong point this is the guy. Have a look at his builds, some of the cleanest work I have seen. From now on if I need my ski tuned I know where its going. Had I done this on my last setup I would have had a lot more time to ride instead of second guessing myself wondering if I had everything right.

The only bad thing I can say is now my ski is way too much for me and im going to have a learning curve this summer when it hits the water again!

I have never met Philip in person but I did spend a bit of time with him on the phone last summer when tuning my ski. He also took the time to help me out with my AG charging system. It doesn't take long to realize he knows his stuff.

If you've got limited time and have to pick riding or wrenching, get P&P to build it. It'll be built like a show car (you've got to see his drag car), tuned, and reliable. The more time you spend up front to build it right, the less time (unless you meet a sandbar) needed down the road. Remember pay now, or pay later...

I met Phillip at Daytona, His ski's were immaculate. His strap system for his battery was an ingenious idea for when you have to remove the battery alot, he had it out in a minute. This was in his KDX, tucked back in the back corner.

Been getting a bunch of texts and pms about what it costs. Im sure it will be case by case so you are best to contact Phil directly.

Bump for a bad a$$ tuner and great guy. I picked up a TPE 964 SS and told Philip basically everything about the rest of my ski and he dialed me in without even seeing the ski. Jetting, initial air screw settings, compression for my elevation, pump set up etc... I'm at 5,000' and he nailed it. Super difficult feat to even get close to IMO.

He's very easy to contact and was willing to help get me dialed in. I wish I lived closer, just so he could take a spin on my ski and see what a good job he did on it.

If you want to get your ski tuned properly, he's the go to guy, hands down.

Thanks Philip! You da man buddy! Lovin my ski.

I have been chasing my tail for a year trying to get my Dasa 1200 performing the way I feel it should. I messaged Phil asking if I could talk to him about tuning it, he sent me his number and I called and talked to him a couple times. We went over basically everything about my setup over the phone and he had me check a few things, including pressure testing my PFP chamber, and low and behold my water jacket is busted. He talked me through converting it to a wet pipe and gave me some different jetting specs. I took it for a ride yesterday and all I can say is wow!!! This is how it was supposed to feel from the start, my motor has never had this much power or ran this well. Instead of nosing in flips, I was finally going plate to plate....however with the new found power I tired out fast, it's a handful now. I still have a lot of fine tuning to do, getting the water injection to where it should be and fine tuning the carbs, but I finally feel like I'm on the home stretch.

Big thanks to Phil for taking time on a holiday weekend to help a couple of guys from Ohio out. I'm amazed at how quickly and accurately he can diagnose a problem. The man is incredible.

Phil is really making a name for himself! Give it a year or so I can see him tuning a winning boat at wf. Some people say they can tune and guys like this just go out and do it. Glad you guys had a good trip. I remember just a few weeks ago talking to you about heading to see him.

+1 for this guy. I took my 1105 Brawler down to him with 102nd7 last weekend for some tuning. He was able to figure out the issues I was having and had my setup tuned within an hour. I would definitely take my ski to him again if I change some stuff and need some additional work!

Had to add to this. I visited Phil last weekend for an MSD TL install and tune and I was blown away. The attention to detail and quality of his work is second to none. I sent him the MSD components ahead of time to wire and mock up and came down to have him install on my footrocket. I switched to the TNT pipe and waterbox and no longer had room for my limited slip tank. He installed one of his special battery mounts for me and helped me mount a jaz tank. He took the time to listen to my questions and make sure I had a good understanding of how I can make changes to the ski to move the powerband around to my liking as my skills progress. I'm just an average joe, not a professional or competition rider and really appreciated the time he took to make my ski right. I wouldn't hesistate to have him do work on my ski again. Thanks again Phil.
