Simple fix for old style thrust trim (Flowguard)

I recently switched to a 148 Mag. The added thrust created so much blow by that the ski would almost die when turning left. The pump water bypasses the steering nozzle and shoots directly into the exhaust. It is hard to believe but it really happens and really will bog the motor.

Everyone told me to buy the X metal and "mod" it. I didn't feel like buying another flawed system and rigging it so i figured I'd make a new fix for mine. I though this might help someone else out there with the old thrust ez trim who wants to make it work for cheap. Or buy the old ez trim instead because it is way cheaper and do this mod for around $10

Grab a 1/2" thick chunk of delrin. Trim/sand to size to fit the channels on the side of the turning nozzle (fill the voids). Make sure it protrudes past the end of the trim ring to block the water on hard turns.

Then buy some m6x1.0 flat head stainless screws. Drill and countersink the delrin. Then line the chunk up where you want it. When you have it in a good spot, mark the trim ring. finally drill and tap the trim ring and install with locktite. (I went farther back on the ring because it is much thicker metal there). after testing, we will see if i need to add a second screw to keep it aligned. You don't need to remove the pump to do this "mod", I already had mine out.

You can make it look as pretty as you want but I don't have a great deal of patience when sanding.

Ghetto fix but it looks like that is the change that Thrust made to the trim that costs 2x as much... just added some material there.

Time to get back to barrel rolling and hucking 360s!

Sorry for late response. I could make this happen. But I am stuck in training for the next few months. Took a new job in the company. And spending life several hours away from home in a hotel

I'd buy a set just to save myself the hassle. Winter here so i wont be riding much for a bit, i could wit a few months for a solid set at a good price.
