Okay so i know you guys probley get annoyed with these post but here ya go lol.

Just picked up a 1990 super jet,has stock 6m6 bottom end with 61x 701 top end on it. Ive only started it and reved it up a few times to make sure it runs befor tearing the ski down. Sence its winter here i have it all apart and plan on doing some things to it sence i have the engine out anyways. I plan on reinforceing the hull and were the handle pole braket goes. And then throwing the engine back in with new fuel lines water lines gaskets and all that plus rebilding the pump if it needs new bearings and seals.

My questions are.
What do i need to do the reinforcement to the hull? (Never worked with glass)
How can i tell if my jet pump needs to be rebuilt ? Sence iver never actually ridden or heard this thing under a load.
I know i can find directions on how to do the hull reinfIorcment. Just want to know the best material to use and what i have to buy?
and plus would like to share my little winter build on this thing sence ive wanted a superjet for awile now.
Thank you guys for any help and suggestions

Also forgot to mention when i was taking the engine out of ski i noticed these on the wiring harness going into ebox. If i use waterproof but connectors when puting it back togeather should i be fine?
And i orderd a gasket kit complete oem for the 61x 701 engine and i have a 6m6 bottom end with 61x cylinders, will the crank seals in my kit for the 61x work on my 6m6 cases ?

I refer to parts diagrams (a feature of most parts retailers sites) to determine compatibility. Attached you will see an example each of 1991 and 2017 Superjet crankshaft assembly diagrams. The crank seal part numbers are common to both meaning they are identical parts (so you can use the ones in the kit you have). However, piston part numbers differ as one is for a 650 whilst the other is for a 701.IMG_2935.PNGIMG_2936.PNG

Yea i actually just did this befor i seen your reply and noticed the part numbers match and i know the pistons are different. Just wanted to know about the gaskets and crank seals. Because sence i have the engine out i will replace all of that.

u.s. composites. Medium epoxy resin and 1208 biaxial mat. But in my opinion, unless there's any damage just skip the reinforcing. you'll want a new hull before any reinforcing becomes necessary.

Theres the damage in the picture that the previous owner repaired but i dont know how good of a job they did. And i have a soft spot for square noses so even when i get a new hull i think ill keep it around.
I just know this things allready been beat and jumped alot so thats why i was gonna reinforce it. Ill be jumping boat wakes in the river and riding in lake michigan. Think i should skip the reinforcing and it will be fine

As long as it isn't peeling off I'd slap some shiny white paint in there and run it. If you're itching to do some glass work (pun not intended) I'd be more concerned with its not peeling up or anything and i wouldent mind learing somthing new and trying it but think i might just paint it and call it a day. The tray was just done a few years ago by a shop in Wisconsin when the put the footholds in i assume they did sny work that needed to be done but you never know.
