How can I remove the inside of the hood to save weight? Does anyone have pictures? Is the result good?

I can post up some photos later this week. I'll be winterizing my ski, just got snow tonight.

It definitely saves weight. Part of the savings is ditching the fire extinguisher and holder. I used a cutoff wheel, just go slow. There's glue behind the liner that can be removed also.

Have you plugged the front breather and cut the second rear breather? Much less water in the hull.

I’m not sure I’d recommend cutting out the inner liner to save weight, the liner acts as a diversion system for any water that comes over the nose of the ski or from the rear hood air inlets. Without the liner any incoming water could be splashed around and sucked into the engine instead of being diverted to the bottom of the hull via the rubber tubes on the hood

This is why you need to block off the front breather and cut the second in the rear. You leave the rear portion of the liner in place doing this mod.
