Has anyone put a Yamaha 701/760 in a SXR800 hull?

Looking to start a winter project, curious about throwing a 701/760 in one of my old sxr800 hulls. Ideally I would like to run the big oem Yamaha 760 sitdown exhaust and plumb it into a rear waterbox setup, then mount the ebox up front on a tank bracket made for a sxr1100 conversion.

Has anyone tried this ever? I’m curious if the exhaust will fit without cutting the hull, or if the 701 breadbox exhaust is required.

There have been a couple of threads regarding it here but they may be tough to find now. I put a 61x with stock SJ style exhaust in a 750sx with the Rhaas kit, it was pretty painless.
 
I tried searching but came up short on any threads outlining the conversion. I see that Rhass makes a bolt-in conversion mount setup, but I am specifically interested in using the OEM 760 sitdown exhaust in the sxr hull.

Also, are there any alternatives to using the Rhass engine mounts? I'm not a fan of how rigid they are and how they transfer excessive vibration from the engine to the hull.

I ran the Riva Dry Pipe. I think it was a type four or something like that. It hit hard and pulled.

A little off topic but I used the Rhaas kit in my pro force set up for a Kawi triple and it was easy to install a Yamaha engine. I have a TNT V3 exhaust that is slightly modded for racing and everything fits great.I can change out a motor in 2 hours taking my time. I would think the sit down exhaust may be to bulky and not fit In an sxr but not sure.

i dont see any benefit to putting a 701 in a sxr other than possibly trying freestyle. the 800 engine makes more power than a 701 stock for stock.
701 makes more bottom end power..... But personally I like the 800 motor.
And it could be because he has the hulls, the motors and because he can..................

It's more for trying something new. I've had a fair share of both and I'd like to try a 760 for the low end grunt over an 800. Just looking to see if anyone has used the stock 760 exhaust. It's common enough to use the stock 701 exhaust on a 760 in a superjet but it would appear to be a chocking point for the engine. I'd like to eliminate that and run a complete 760 with the big 760 exhaust.

You will need some kind of tuned pipe in order to get a 760 to make any power. The stock Superjet exhaust will hurt higher port cylinders more than ones with lower port timing. Plus the smaller Kawasaki pump needs more power and rpm to make the same thrust than a Yamaha pump can at low speeds. A 760 wont help "low end" performance over an 800 if thats your reasoning.

If anything the 760 will produce less low end torque than the 800. People underestimate the power output of the 800. It has better port timing than the 760 as well. The 800 has the same port timing as the #22 small pin 750 cylinder which is a great all around setup. The cases are even tunnel ported from kawi. Not radical but definitely an improvement over the 750 BP and 701 stuff

When the 800 came out it was said they designed it to have more bottom to mid power.
