This is correct. Remove pivot bolt, flip spring around to be on the other side (from port/left to starboard/right) of the pole, reinstall pivot bolt, spring should not be resting in spring perch correctly and holding the pole up a bit.

Yeah, that looks installed way wrong. The straight leg off the spring should be resting in that perch all the time.
