Anyone tried it? I have everything for Ryan to build a complete X2 with a 750 motor except the only exhaust setup is a complete 650 stock setup.
Anyone have directions on how to modify the stock pipe?
The situation is I found a ski for Ryan with a running 750 motor to swap into my X2 hull. He is going to do the 750 pump mod I found in a post here. He's going to run the 750 motor. The idea is to spend no money other than the donor ski the 750 came from ($175 less the amount I sell the trailer for). We're building w/in his budget, so spending several hundred on a 750 pipe is out of the question at this time. We have to work with what we have to get the ski in the water. When he finds moe work, I will help him find more parts. Right now, the 650 parts I have are free to him. The X2 when complete will probably cost $200 since I am providing a complete 650 X2 less the motor and pump.
do you have to change the pump to a 750 pump? or can it run with the 650 one
I have a westcoast pipe for $225 shipped in the US and a small hub 13/18 for $110 ship
my buddie has the small pin 750 in his 650sx with a stock exhaust system and it runs perfect. didnt have to touch the carb just bolted in and ran it. i just finished my flat deck build and have the 750 big pin in mine but i have a west coast pipe and water box and a mariner manifold. didnt touch the dual carb at all and it ran tits. im pretty sure a stock pipe would work but limit the power. everyone likes to mess with the stock carbs, i dont think you really need to unless the carb was messed up to begin with.
where did you pull your 750 motor from and what ele box did you use just curious
stock 650 ele box with the 750 motor?? Dont you have to run the 750 ele box? what do you have to do to get it work right with that newer motor. my motor is out of a 96 zxi and i just have the huge ele box stapped in where the oil tank would go.
Sorry. I ment the stock electronics from the XI SS for the 750 motor. You can run 650 electronics in the 750 but it requires changing the flywheel, stator and etc. The advantage is the 650 electronics have a much lighter flywheel, that can perhaps be lightened even more. Do a search, some people have posts how to do it. I think you just have to tap the case to accept the 650 stator.
You also have to massage the ears that hold the stator in place, not difficult really just takes a bit of time.
Yeah that's what I thought. My 96 ele box is huge. Im not trying to mess with all that. I'll deal with it big. Any thoughts on the jet works flow control valve.??
