Hi guys, finally got the BOB G3 together to do a test ride. Went good, despite crappy weather.
BUT i noticed something really really strange!
When going WOT from "ilde" straight og when bars are cranked right, it rips! But when i turn left it bogs down before reving up.
Wtf. has anyone experienced this before?
My setup is, Dasa 850 SS, dasa billet intake, dual 49 FS carbs, msd TL digital. PFP pipe.
This setup ran flawless in my lenzi (both left and right turns :)
Now it sits in a BOB G3, so far it only breaths through the RRP pole bracket with titan billet pole. (havent cut holes in the hood) On the lenzi it had RRP bracket and the ATP hood with breather holes.
I ruled out the fuel pickups in the kart tank, when filling the tank 100% and test it straight away.
But im thinking if it could be that it has trouble breathing when cranking left, i really dont see any logic in this.

Mine does it to. Its the water coming out of your steering nozzle. You gotta extend your exhaust outlet or get a flow gaurd.

Str8 so what is happening here? the water is getting by your turn nozzle and choking out your motor by blocking the exhaust outlet with water ,correct ? i haven't experienced any issues like this with mine, at all ,is the reason i ask

Hmm sure, well im not saying its not this. But my setup is pretty common. Pump setup 144 solas mag, Xscream trim. Anyone other ideas on this?

IMG_0950.jpgcorrect with a raider exit nozzle not sure if they are longer is why i was asking .just trying to see if any thing might be suspect here ?

water spraying in the exhaust for sure i allready made some exhaust extension for a friend.

You can do an extension but the better way to do is a flow guard

str8, cant see the pic :/
I have noticed on i think its krash footrocket, there is a exhaust tip, shooting the gas in a 45 degree sideways or something.
Rubbertoe, yeah i will go down and look at my nozzle.
It bogs allso when you are only turning mild left (not only complete cranked full left)

This maybe the case ? i notice when a friend rode my ski that is footed opposite to me, i see more blow by on the exit nozzle (stream that goes up in the air from the nozzle).so maybe if your left footed or favor left turns that you might be at a more aggressive angle letting more water by to get at your exhaust .dunno ? put it this way : when i do a set up wake i use left turns, but i favor a roll to the right .and don't experience any bogging. a lot of times must be rather aggressive on the approach to the left and the right ..

A shot in the dark here, but you you state that it basically bogs period when turning to the left be it full lock or partial correct? Have you checked throttle cable for binding while the bars are to the left? Pop the F/A off and turn the bars and check for butterfly response as you turn the bars. Just trying to eliminate a possible issue. Good luck. Also if it is an exhaust/thrust issue just get a factory sxr exhaust extension and you'll be cherry.

I want to say that flipping your carbs around can help with the issue. Something about the diaphragms being pushed while turning? Not 100% sure. I've seen this issue on a couple BOBs, but none of my personal BOB's have ever had this issue, and I'm not running a flow-guard or any other pieces to prevent water from going to my exhaust outlet.

Yeah but the theory about diaphrams being pushed, drops BC i was comming to a "complete" stop, crank left and hit the throttle and it bogged. First thing is to make a cheap "flowguar" and if this dosent work, try to extend my exhaust outlet. And if this fails. flip carbs. :)

I've seen a factory setup high dollar ski running a cheap flow guard made from a rubber bpipe coupler that was fitted on the exit nozzle with some trimming to allow the trim to work. The whole setup seemed to work flawlessly, looked sano and best of all it was cheap.

IT IS the water shooting between your exit and turn nozzle up into your exhaust. I fought the same problem. First I made a extension over the exhaust outlet and it fixed it, but a even better way is what was mentioned above.
Take a b-pipe coupler and trim it down to where there are only 2 small ears on the left and right side. Hose clamp it over your trim ring so the ears block the gap that shows between the exit and turn nozzle when the bars are turned and BAM.......problem solved, I promise!
