Well since it warmed up to a comfortable 80° today, I threw on some shorts and did some work to my SN that I built up last winter. After a rough start to the season due to engine failures, I finally finished out the summer with a limited 701 setup. Coming from a hotrod lifestyle background, I have always like throwing in the biggest engine possible into whatever project I am working on. Now I'm not gangster enough to be able to afford one of them fancy stroker engines so I found a deal on an 1100 Waveraider ($300 with trailer) and have started the painfull tripple engine swap. I have done as much research as I can seeing how there isnt a lot out there. I can see why this isnt done very often in an sj but I enjoy a challenge and love having the ski that is very different from the rest of my riding crew. I purchased the bracket kit from Extreme Throttle, it is a nice basic kit that includes the custom length Rhaas SJ1100 engine mounts. I quickly found out that the stock hardware can only be used in the front hull mounting pads. A quick trip to the local Ace Hardware got me some longer stainless bolts (m8x1.25x30). The mounting bolts must be left loose in order to line up the engine cradle to the engine mounts. Once those are tightened down then tighten the hull mounting bolts. The real P.I.T.A. with this build is the exhaust system. The factory yamaha tripple pipe runs to the back like the factory 62t exhaust does. Gonna try a few things but the plan is to run a 3" exhaust from the pipe to a modified raider1100 waterbox and a 3" pipe running through the hull under the tray. Ill try to keep this build going quickly and updated.

Not quite sure, the build im basing my build off of used an FX140 waterbox hose to make that tight turn. Ive also been looking at high temp silicone hose.

Did some more work tonight, changed out the stock couplers for some Cold Fusion billet pieces then lined everything up to ensure proper fit with the adapter brackets. I then tore the engine back down so I could take the cylinder to the machine shop tomorrow. Last thing I did this evening was relocate the battery to the nose foam. I got it to fit pretty snug in there but im gonna work on making some kind of strap to hold it in place.

i like the nose foam for the battery... but is that a sealed battery??? kinda hard to tell, looks like an open cell to me... good idea for sealed battery... bad idea for an open cell battery.... unless you dont like water in your battery then you are fine, lol

Using an FX140 waterbox hose to turn the exhaust towards the front on the hull. Then running a 3" exhaust hose from that to the waterbox, modified Raider 1100 waterbox, then another 3" hose from the waterbox to a 3" stainless pipe running under the tray.

thats a lot of extra weight and hoses running arround, did you look for other solutions....??

750 SX waterbox, Turbo Muff L or cutting up the tray and dropping waterbox in there, or direct out the left with using a baffled pipe....I am just curious

Its really not a whole lot of weight, maybe a pound or two more than a stock sj setup. I dont want to cut open my tray this year, I did that last year haha. Maybe next winter I will cut the tray to do a rear waterbox and run trim cable if I end up liking the way this ski handles and cruises. Not expecting to do backflips, just wanted something with a big engine to chase boats with.
