Well, I made one for PWCT and Ill make one for the tech FAQ asecion here as well. This was originally designed and made up by yamaslut, I take no credit except for being lazy enough to do the write up on it. Hope this helps.
1. Remove stock hood liner. How? Use an air hammer w/sharpeed chisel, or do like I did and use a cut off wheel along with a small die grinder, and a hammer and chisel.
2. Handholds. If you install handholds, first cut out your design for the handhold. After that, I took luon, a lightweight wood, and made enclosures to go round the holds on the inside of the hood. The wood was coated in epoxy to seal it, as well as fiberglassed in with some mat. I made the top of the handhold buckets flush with the hump on the inside of the hood, where the pole would rest.
3. Vents. Fill in top vents and front holes with anything you choose. I glued strips of wood to the back and filled the holes with epoxy resin i had leftover as i glassed in my footholds and other items. I smoothed all of them out with evercoat.
For your new airflow, cut oval holes into the back of your hood on each side of the latch catch to ensure your motor will breathe. I also cut 2 round holes in the inside lip of the hood, located on both sides.
4. Hoodliner. For my hoodliner, I took 2 layers of cloth and 1 layer of matting, and layed them on my flat steel table in my garage. I layed them up with some resin and let it harden into a sheet over night. I then used a pre-made pattern and cut it to size, and fiberglassed it into the hood with some more cloth. I let the liner rest on top of the small hump in the hood, where your stock hood handle rests on the outside. I just rivited my handle back on when was done. Allowing it to rest on this hump allows room for air to travel throughout the entire hood.
To install my hood latch, i had to cut a notch in the back of the liner and lay some glass in so it sat flush to the back of the hood. I then drilled out the holes and bolted my latch catch down
EDIT: If you dont have a flat table or surface to make youe hood liner on like I did, cut yourself a cardboard template and stick it in the hood, line it with plastic, and then lay in your glass. Let it cure and then romve it, then remove the carboard, and glass the liner back in
5. Breather hoses. I just took my stock breather hoses, and using a hole saw, cut holes to the correct size, and stuck the stock tubes in. I trimmed them shorter and glued them in with some famous 3m 5200. One is located over the battery, on an angle toward the middle of the ski. The other is above the stinger of the pipe, next to the tank.
