Blaster setup help.

I just bought a 93 blaster and am wondering what people do to get them to perform well. I have a rnsj that is setup for freestyle so I am looking for a little bit more of a corner carver with this one. What parts are recommended for the blaster. I was thinking prop, pipe and intake grate....maybe sponsons if they are recommended. Would a 13/17 be ideal for this ski. How about the b limited. Should I go with a worx 205 instead of the 201 like what is on my sj? Blaster stuff is new to me...even though the main diff between this and my sj is only the seat and 61x cases instead of the 62t.

I would highly recommend that you reinforce the hood and motor compartment, and we do a mod on the rear of the hull to cut the lip off and taper the boarding platform down to decrease the impact area at the transom.
After this you should have a pretty killer freeride ski!:Banane01:

Enjoy!:purr:

Oh, and i forgot to mention.... You could bump up compression a little, but get this done by someone who know what to do, alternatively get a good head, maybe ADA or something!. Here in SA we Mod our own.
Speak to Paul at lehr performance!

Sooooooo......I didnt hear any news from ya on the house.....hopefully everything went well there and we can start planning Ketsair's Chaos Freeride!

Get the UMI steering set up, but throw a good set of moto bars on there. Tag, Renthal, or Pro Taper. This makes a HUGE difference. I run Pro Tapers which require a bar mount adaptor because they are larger at the mounting point. I'm a little taller (6'1") so a run a "tall" adaptor riser. Much more comfortable to ride, and makes it easier when standing up.
The motor stuff is the same as any other Yamaha, you know what to do.
I'll get a pic of the bars later.

These are the KX high bend bars. I cut 1 in off each end, they were a little too wide on the first trial. I believe the riser gives a 3 in rise and the bar 2 3/4 rise. Nice and high and wider.

Where is a good place to get the bars? I am 6'3" and would like the bars a little higher. Good price?

Any moto shop should have them. Bars are $60-65, adaptor $40-50. I think the bars are a lot stronger than the UMIs also. I have tacoed a couple pairs of UMIs. With your height, you would really like this set up.

Everybody does the cool mods but waht about seatgrabs? i wanted to mount 2 dakine footstraps 2 my seat... fro grabn tricks but what can be done to the seat functionally?

Xile.

I put hand holds in the seat. I'm working on a freestyle seat now, very low cut. I will post a build up thread when that is done.

Hey Exile,
That carbon ski you took pics of at suncity had a hole right thru the side of the seat similar to LBE's. It was just much bigger!
It actually looked pretty wicked. almost like a space frame seat!!
Unfortunately i dont have pics!

Jet Dymanics ride plate and scoop, head, pipe, stock prop works great for most set ups (untill you big bore)

thanks guys.....now i have some ideas on what to do. i want it to hook up in the corners and handle like its on rails. looks like b pipe, worx 201, dakine footstraps, rideplate and head are on the to do list. Possibly impeller. Already have a ported cyl and wet wolf cone to throw on there so looks like this should be a fun ride.
