That is what I thought. Then again I have never fooled with many Yamaha engines. Won't a billet Kawasaki styke coupler be needed on the Yamaha engine to match up with the drive shaft coupler? I htough someone made those billet couplers for Yamaha's that turned them into Kawie styles? I still wonder about drive shaft alignment.

first of all, that is a 650/750 plate.......i would love to see the bottom.... I have like 5 extra bedplates, i need to find a spare set of 701 cases so i can mock it up...ill use my spare x2 hull!
the coupler issue is allready solved. my buddy broke his superjet couplers and ordered a UMI coupler set, and they use a kawie connection, so you just change the engine side coupler and its a drop in deal.
With yamaha engines being cheaper to go to the next step...IE powervalves, strokers, etc.....this might be the way to go!

Yeah I looked at this with some spare engines and bedplates I have laying around,I don't really get what bolts he is using to mount up at the front of the engine,nothing lines up there.

well there was a big controversy about when I stated that the speed record for the fastest standup was held by the guy that dropped an ultra 150 motor in a 98 sxi pro, clocked at 85mph at 3/4 throttle, and I was just trying to get some substantial evidence to back up my findings. I have messaged the guy, but no response. everybody was in disbelief that the guy could get the engine in there, let alone the chamber. although, he stated in the magazine that I read that he had to construct a chamber for it to get it to work in the ski.

Hydrodynamics plays an important part in motor performance. The light weight of a standup can reduce speed. Unlike a prop-driven boat, a stand up requires the hull to remain in the water so the pump can continue to intake fluid. At high rates of speed, aerodynamics and bounce play an important role in keeping a pump hooked up. Despite the power of any engine, a machine can only travel at the rate it's cumulative componets can deliver. This argument does not prove a standup is incapable of obtaining record speeds, simply that fitting a large motor alone does not mean a stand up will obtain those recorded speeds.
