Tail cones

Anyone have some information on tail cones for the 650 pump? I understand that a shorter tail cone improves bottom end while a longer cone improves top end.

how much does a shorter tail cone improve bottom end? I have lots of stock tail cones. I could just have tom weld some of them at different lengths and test.

Cast won't weld worth a darn, just fill with jb weld and reshape.

1 that is half length like yours crab and just finnished another that just clears the shaft

I agree. I welded mine and the bead ended up looking like turkey pooh. I cut about a 1" section from the middle and welded it back together, then filled the weld area bond short hair filler. Have yet to try it.
