Square ---> Round...ish

I have renewed interest in my old square after reading the square to round post and the custom square hood post, and I figured I would try to keep to energy rolling by putting a build thread up. So...... here it is. Please let me know what ya'll think.

Pics on a ski would be the bestestest.

I sold my last decent SJ last week. so I would not have any pix on a ski. The guy that purchase the ski is a really nice guy so he may let me use it to take pix for it.

hey man...what's ur plan for making the nose of that ski h2o worthy. I'm comtemplating rounding out the nose on my sqaure. I've got that foam idea in my head, but how to glass it right and make it look not frankensteinish is my the question.

just wait a few more days and I will have the first nose pcs out. and h2o proof like any other parts i do.

foaming and glassing the nose pc will be an error since the bolt for the pivot at the pole will be impossible to remove.......:thinking:

Just got done with glassing the nose up, but I don't have the camera at the house, I'll take some pics in the next few days, and have some more done by then.....hopefully.

As for the pole bolt I have the sides of the nose low enough so the bolt goes in with no problem, but I was contemplating making them a little taller and just putting the pole/bracket together first & then mounting it on the ski, so the lines flow a little better. We'll see.

I'd love to be able to afford one of your hoods louie, but on a teachers wage I have found that I have to make what I can't afford.

perhaps you could use the nose pcs alone and built you hood.

I was able to snap one pic before the battery died. This is one layer of mat & one biax, I'm going to smooth it out and lay one layer of light weave and it should be good.
