After watching the Moto X stuff on ESPN yesterday I couldn't resist taking YZ250FPilot's 1977 Yamaha YZ 80 for a spin. Since he had it sitting outside while cleaning his garage we ripped up a few laps on it.

Dang....that thing sounds like a cross between a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke with the cell phone!!! In reality it makes a sound like neeeeeeeeen...neeeeeeeeeen...neeeeeeeeeeeeeen! Nothing like the phone!

It's an all original 77 YZ80D. I used to race one like it back in the 70's! The only things that is not original are the chain, sprockets, grips and back tire! It had the original piston and bore up until about 2 years ago when I put a new top end in it. It gets ridden maybe 3 or 4 times a year for about 15 minutes. :fing02:

I had mine in like 79.. and it was beat then. (as I remember it)

that think is worth some money as it sets. nice bike.

It was a great pit bike! I don't race anymore, but when I did, everyone at the tracks wanted to buy the thing. I haven't seen a decent 77 in quite some time.
