Type 4 Blown coupler TESTED SOLUTION

hey everyone, anybody that blows the couplers (like I used to) often here is a solution

DO NOT USE the blue silicone one. Instead go to your local boat shop/store and buy MARINE EXHAUST HOSE (3 1/2"). Its a lot thicker and sturdier and made to withstand much more freestyle/freeride abuse. I had been running one (thanks to smitty) for a few years now and its still in great shape while my original one gave in a month (one backwards landing at FSF). My buddies ski with type 4 did identical (lasted few rides until replaced).

They sell them by the foot ( I paid something like 28 CDN for a Foot) cut it to size and mount. Now don't waste your time looking for it in the Truck (diesel) parts stores as the largest silicone one I FOUND was 3" and much thinner.

I can post a pic of the hose. its black in/out and has an imbedded blue stripe with lettering "MARINE EXHAUST HOSE 3 1/2 " or something very similar but the shop called it exactly Marine exhaust hose.

If this info can only save 4 hours of riding time for someone it will be worth it:beerchug:

Proper alignment is the real key to making them last........

Agreed. But I also used a heavy duty coupler.

I had to slot the holes on my speedwerx.

My factory 4 was a little bit better as far as alignment but I still had to use the heavy duty couplers to make them last.

I finally bit the bullet and bought 2 B pipes.
