im gonna re paint and reinforce and put foot holds etc in it this winter. i was just looking for some professional opinions on this area.

it does NOT leak, it looks bad tho, i wonder if the previous owner fixed something there before? (dif color)

i was thinking of reinforcing with fiberglass on the inside and using some marine tex to fill the cracks.

start looking for another hull but in the mean time, patch and reinforce your hull. ride it for the summer and then transfer everything over in the new hull during winter.

In my opinion, that hull needs more than just inside glassing. On the inside it needs to have those cracks ground almost through, a thick filler in the cracks, and then glass over top. On the outside, you need to take a 4-5" grinder and turn it on edge, and follow all of those external cracks with it, so that it is cutting a bowl shaped dip, with the cracks centered in the deepest part. You need to actually add a nice strong layer or two of biax and then filler to make it smooth. Let that cure, then come back with a grinder to get the bulk off, and then a sander with some heavy grit to knock it down flat again. Then fill with filler as neccessary to get a nice smooth surface for painting.

If it were me: I'd fix it...

I would say to you: Spend 2-3 sessions to fix it, or buy another hull and then have to possibly fix it in spots too.

i think i'd rather fix it, as i plan to fix up this hull anyway, and reinforce other parts of it, as well as foot holds, paint, etc. this winter.

just a note: i've been riding it this way so far this summer at least 8-10 times so far....

still no leaks... but makes me cringe if i land flat off a jump or something jus cus i dont know for sure..

i havnt taken the gas tank out or anything to see what it looks like from the inside so im not sure if they go all the way thru ...
