SX-2R Build

This boat was "NEVER GOING TO GET SCREWED WITH" at least that's what Yamahammer said. He bought it so he could always have a reliable boat to ride when all the hot rods were broke down, funny how things change. First we tore it down to a bare hull...

It started like all our builds, with the wouldn't it be cool if... We had a couple of X-2's laying around and Yamahammer decided we needed a conversion boat, what better candidate than the brand new, less than five hours on it SXR. Here is the original mock up, we have all the aluminum mocked up now, working on the hinge setup. We kept all the stock parts (hood, hand pole) and Skinnyman provided us with a hood we could use (thanks bro) Going with a stock X-2 steering stem for now, might upgrade at a later date. More to come Friday.

Even though i have absolutely zero desire to own a conversion I always like to watch the build ups. i think they look pretty sweet! and SXR foundation could be pretty cool. *watches intently*

I'm calling mine "the X-3" and it will be very similar to my sj hood. Hopefully soon I will have the steering made for it. let you know when its done - but you will probably make a one-off Bonzai Bob steering for it.

X-3 is the wrong name. the x-2 was named that because you could put 2 people on it. Maybe the X-1

X-1 was also an experimental plane that native West Virginian, Chuck Yeagar, broke the sound barrier in. :)

Tom/Tim, I think your hood looks really sweet! I like the lines a lot better than the 24-7 version. The lines look similar to an 800 X2.

oops here is the pic

I can't believe you took a picture of such a ugly hood on such a beautiful boat. I think you should take some time to shine that hood up. It does that flawless beauty of Tim's simply no justice.
