Blaster running problem?

Heres the story, this B1 ran good last year but on the last ride it went wide open on the trailer and got very hot. This year when I put it in the water it didn't run good so I pulled the plugs and noticed water on the front plug. I pulled the head(Pro-tec rec. head) and replaced the o-rings,now no more water. I thought the problem would be solved, but it still runs poor at time.It seems to run good for about 15 minutes then it loses power and is very boggy(sounds like a rev limiter or breaking up). When it cools it seems to run better again, but it did have a period where it ran good then poor and the good for about 15 minutes again without cool down. This thing is driving me nuts, its my favorite ski and its the one that won't run right. The compression is 155 front and about 167ish rear(same as last year before any running problems). There was a slight 4 point seizure on the front cylinder I noticed when I replaced the o-rings. Any ideas? I'm almost leaning toward an electrical problem at this point. Could running wide open out of water have damaged the pump bearings or pump? It ran open for probably 4-6 minutes and was smoking hot(obviously) before it shut down. Ideas????

sounds like you had a vacuum leak LAST YEAR and the eng locked up on the trailer . 4 - 6 minutes at WFO and i would assume that the eng is now toast !! looks like a complete tear down is now due as the very first thing to do . you must find out why it went wide open and that will show on the tear down / where ya located

Ashtabula, North East Ohio. The engine is still holding decent compression. It was tested last year and its still the same. The run away happened on the trailer when it was being revved to clear the water out after riding. I don't think that is uncommon,my 650SX does it sometimes, but now I know how to stop it so its not a big deal(hold it WOT and hold the kill switch, works right away). I hate to pull a decent motor, tear it down and rebuild it if it still has life in it.That could be the direction I end up going though, just looking for suggestions and to see if someone has had a similar problem.

sounds like you got it under controll then , just dont go too far from shore with it in that condition and im sure all will be ok . A tow rope may be something to consider too ...... See ya on Eire !
