I am finally posting for this build that we have been talking about.
This boat is a x-2 hull I got from the Crab for a good friend of mine Brent Johnson we grew up together and have created some interesting stuff over the year's LOL . Brent has a vast background in engine building and snowmobile creation's. This particular engine is a liberty twin polaris snowmobile bottom with a custom 920 psi topend, dial-a-dome head, modified wetjet exh. manifold, dual mikuni pumper's, custom built bedplate, custom machined seadoo787 rave valves, the engine is set back 3 " from the stock location. This motor with twin pipes in a sled/snowmobile produces 190 h.p. this arrangement will have a custom built single pipe.
Brent is working on the shortened driveshaft and gas tank idea's.
There are a few unknown's still as far as what prop he will run and how the pipe will work. I will post some pic's enjoy.

Here is a pic I snapped of a triple Brent built out of 2- 800 twin's You can see where he welded the 2 halves together and he aslo indexed and built his own triple crank from 2 800 crank's I could not start it cold (pull start LOL )

Very cool project! Hope he puts a mag pump in there
I'd like to see that motor in sxr hull. Could make a great GP ski
Good luck and keep us updated!:Banane35:

Well actually Brent also built a 995 cc motor and is looking at the mounting option's for a starter. We just need a SXR hull, LOL Scorn you got a spare Mag pump you want to donate.? It would be much appreciated LOL

i was in a 900zxi just now and the drive hsaft distance from the coupler to the bearing support was around 3" shorter than the x2
Interesting, Wonder if the overall length is shorter ? Are the splines on the pump end the same as a x-2.
I guess it's to late now anyway because Brent already has the bedplate built for where he want's the motor to sit. The hull is wider toward's the back so moving the motor back 3" allowed for the exh. manifold to clear the inside of the hull.

I can tell you what you want to know, the 900 shaft is what I am using on the Thunderjet build,I have one here it is about 20 1/2 inches in length and the back edge of the coupler is about 3 inches from the front of the bearing housing.

So Terry are they the same spline as the 650 style pump and are the dimension's all the same from the bearing back to the pump? Maybe that is a better option for this project !
Brent was going to cut the X-2 driveshaft and build a coupler then weld it back together.
Thank's Guy's for the info.

Yes same splines and fits in the stock 650 bearing housing, the threads on the coupler end are bigger but the 900 coupler diameter is the same as the 650 coupler, the 1100 uses a bigger diameter coupler
