Check out my new hull

Well the X2 I put together this summer has a large crack in the rear, among the many other hull problems, so I picked up this bad boy for $60 and I'm going to swap everything over

Its got some interesting changes I thought you guys might like to see, like a grafted in seat (apparently for weight loss) and a custom steering system with no slop or wobble (i probably will throw some other bars on it)

time to start taking off those stickers

Looks pretty cool! It seems like the original owner would have trimmed the hull considering how much time he put into losing that seat.

not so for racing. unless you put a chunk of lead in the nose for ballast

Yeh that blue plastic cover dosent look right on it. skim the hood, and glass a mod dash in it.

Maybe I'll rattle can it black - Id LOVE to skim the hood but the paint is pretty good and I don't want to repaint the hole thing

just noticed the hood scoop has been smoothed out also.. strange they didnt glass that dash ey.

I plan to- how much can I chop off before it starts carving poorly?

1.5 is what I tell most people to do. It gets the noz out so the ski can turn but not so much the tail drops. You can alway cut off more down the road. Seal it with sem after you chop it.

Can you post more pics of the stem and how it goes into the part of the hull.

The stem is the stock one with the rod you see welded on- I'm not sure what makes it so tight and smooth

The stock one would be tight and smooth without the "tilt" bs they came up with for the ladies.

here is the intake grate I got with it - really high quality tig welds

I'll have to try it out, but it looks too aggressive

I wouldnt use that unless you just want to rip the bolt out of the ski. Hit up John at RCJS $50 for a Tri-scoop best grate I have used!

theres a few things i like here, the faired in air intake and what he used after he cut off the hinge cover. look very clean at the hinge.
