is it for a 550? i put a single one on my buddies 550 near the back and it worked good. for any bigger ski i would get footholds actually, the 550 could definitley benifit from a wider stance.

yeah you can try twoside by side but i don't think you will have room for both like that, one worked surprisingly well to help keep me with the ski, my sxi had two side by side but the tray was wider, i didn't like both feet so close together and felt better with one in and one forward for stability.

tell your dad that if you put in straps the water will get in around the screws the foam will get wet and your ski will sink, well not sink but get heavy. This topic is kinda like putting a sun roof on a car, everyone is scared to cut a hole in the roof but when done right everything will be fine and wont leak. im straps are tough and get in the way of regular riding, try one up front and a lifter wedge in the rear.

To install properly you take off your bottom tray pad and cut 2"x2" squares out of tray where screws will be positioned. Take an old rideplate or some 1/4 inch thick aluminum and cut to fit in cutouts. Glass them in and drill holes where bolts go. Put a couple drops of epoxy into holes to seal tray. Then tap your holes for machine thread bolts. Reinstall Hydro-Turf and put Dakine straps on.

Does anyone think that it is a good idea to have both?? IE to have the foot holds and then the straps so that your feet cant slip out towards the centre of the ski?.... Just a question??

Not really a wise idea IMO. If your feet are slipping outward, you need to lay some foam in to trap your feet better.

For what it's worth, I run foot holds and ONE strap up front.
