Buy a Superfreak, even if you can't go full Carbon Tem's new hull in glass is still in the mid 70's (Hell thats lighter than most guys full carbon ski's) & saves you some money.

There's a lot to be said about the Rocker in these new hulls... With Tem's new hull the ski can be completly underwater & you can still go for the second BF...

Make it to Daytona this year & test a few hulls... I think Brian will have a XFS together & there will be a few SF's... Some of us are talking about riding the lake one day before Daytona (Sat/Sun) freeride. The Canada guys wanna try some of these hulls also

Trust me-if I buy a new aftermarket hull it will be from Tem. Like I said earlier, IF something were to happen he is here in the States, there is no language barrier to deal with, and he is on the right coast line as far as access to him/help. And not to mention the fact that he sure seems to know what he is doing. I don't know what Tem's background is, but rumor has it that his composite knowledge is up there with the best of them.

Since you have all this money burning a hole in your pocket, load up the ski bring it down drop it off and I will can make it happen, its kinda slow here and I could use the business.

I have to swap the 730cc LPW motor out of 1 B1 into Cheryl's ski and put her motor back in the B1, fix Steve's B1, and find a home for
the 3rd B1, and Sherry's wammer is on my trailer while I figure out what in the hell I am going to do to fix that p.o.s. I have a grand idea

And then there is my neighbors 1 season old carbon hull that has not seen one ounce of abuse that is cracked all to hell and back and cracked all the way thru near the pole bracket area.

Gil there's only a few truely full Carbon ski's built right that will hold up (DE, SF, XFT, etc) , the one your talking about looked nice but that was about it..... Give that ski ski to Lucas he would break it in one tank...

If you want to be Backflippin you gotta be looking at light hulls, if you want to BF off boat wakes then keep what u got.

Thank you for the insight! I might not have known what PPFFH stood for, but I can read between lines. LOL That's why I have so much respect for you, you tell it like it is.

I forgot!
for me, some of the aftermarket hulls available are too hyped, with so many hull designs, which one do you choose? hulls that "ride" lighter vs. just being lightweight??? lots of the builders can do composite but what about the actual hull design? like i said i would pick any one that has a podium standing and designed by a world champion. if not then i will stick to my superjet because i know what i am dealing with. (yamaha has way more quality control than any other hull builders.) So yeah, any Rickter, EME, or Lenzi hull. for me...champion riders building world class winning skis. not that i need one for my skills.

Tell Sherry I can fix that POS too,so load up the damn Blaster your ski and hers and drop them off, I don't think I want to get into doing glasswork at freerides, gotta draw the line somewhere.

My home away from home.
This thread is interesting for me. I'm cutting my rn up a bit this winter and am excited to see what it will do next year.

Lack of aftermarket hull and brapp cash might be a good thing for me this winter.

Encouraging to hear how well modded stock hulls are doing. I'm diggin it! I took 3 inches off the back (hope I don't regret it, cuz I was told -2 was plenty good) but time will tell.

And I will do some nose work this winter.

Nose job, lipo suction (defoam refoam) breast enlargement (tom21 hood) and some tightening in the buttocks... She will be a fun ride!

i don't think you will regret cutting your hull once you ride it a bunch. your rider weight will be a big factor so ride plate length is going to dial you in along with foothold placement. i have xft's that i hacked in 2" forward. my only regret of cutting my hull is to have done it even better, but 3 seasons of no foam, no bilge pump, and a homedepot oneway has held up good and never sank. rode it all over and in daytona surf. no reinforcement and i have tried to learn flatwater rolls. my hull is going on 15 years now. yamaha does it pretty good with a little help from its riders.

Adrian, I hate you. LOL You are the reason I want to mod my hull now!!! I wish all of you could see Adrian's hull in person now that it is finished, it looks as if it came from the factory that way! He did the cleanest job I have ever seen!!!

I do agree that this is a very clean looking mod. Can you elaborate on the mod and the ski?

The ski is a round nose, with lots of mods. I wanted to start learning to backflip, so I added trim, HP and shortened the hull. I had NO idea that shirtening the hull would make it better to ride in every way! It's -2" with a full length stock rideplate D-cut with 3" diameter. I marked the -2" line following the stock contour and leaving about 3/4" along the pump tunnel. Then hacked off with a dremel. Next I made some molds which had the same contour as the OEM hull - that was actually the trickiest part. I stood the ski on the molds, and then started glassing from the inside - you have to have the tray out to do this. Once that was cured I pulled the molds and then did some more laminating on the outside. A little final filling and fairing and you can see the result. I'm very pleased with how it came out.
