A little help.

Bought this ski last year 1991 square nose and rode it all summer, finally got around to getting the terrible turf job off rails and this is what was underneath. Looks like some spots are sanded down to the fiberglass and a guy at the river said it will eventually get soft with being under water all the time.
I really don’t know anything about glass work so my question is what should I use to fill those spots in and cover them with before I do my turf job, thanks in advance for any help.

I would just go to home depot and pick up some 320 grit sand paper, rattle can primer white, and clear coat. Tape off the area sand it good and then a couple coats of primer and then like 3 coats of clear if it chips or something just lightly sand and spray the spot again whenever your out of the water. the rattle can stuff holds up fine. <$20

it’s gonna be turfed over so shoulder chip or anything. Just the real deep spots worry’s me just don’t want those spots of the hill to get soft over time because of absorbing water.

It looks like they used automotive Bondo (pink area) this will absorb water and isn’t what should be used on a ski.

The correct fix would be to remove all if it and start over but that will involve the entire ski and repaint.

The easy fix is spray it with white appliances epoxy rattle can and turf over it.

get the bondo fiber glass filler. I used that on my 91 SN nose piece to fill all the gouges and pitted spots. then sand, prime,clear....

as long as its not needing fiberglass reinforcement this is what i used

That’s not the Bondo you want to use. The link you posted is auto a Bondo that will absorb water.

I think you meant BondoGlass that’s for marine use.
