The most attractive USCG approved vest I have found is the Slippery Switch vest, it has a slim profile and fits well. Best part is, for guys over 6' tall, it actually comes down to the top of your board shorts so you don't look like teenage girl on spring break and have some ridiculous tan line just below your belly button. I never understood the draw to a side entry vest.

Side entry is better for hood tricks! No buckles or zippers to scratch your ski or get hung up on...
