A primer, and bilge pump are not a bad idea BUT they are just a band aid for problems that you have, and really need to address. Hard starting issues are typically a fuel related problem. You probably need a carb, and fuel pump rebuild. Continuing to run your ski like this could cause engine...

If your ski runs well, your crank/rods are fine. Not uncommon to break a reed on sunken ski but again if you run OK I am sure you are fine there as well. Open your e-box, and remove flywheel cover, and make certain all is dry, and clean.

Yes, this "Can" happen. You can have a voltage loss from a bad/wek battery, bad or dirty positive, or negative cable, etc. Could also be a bad bendix drive as well.

This and don't forget to port match the manifiold to your cyl. 62t cyl has taller exh ports.
