I like to put just a little 1211 on the dome to shell mating surfaces. When I pull my head it is always squished completely out.
Maybe torque down with a touch of 1211 let dry for 24hrs then pull head and see how much 1211 is left(if any) between dome and shell.

Some say the spacer keeps the reeds in better shape as they are not as close to the turbulent crank air turbulence. I only run mine so my stock dual 38 air box clears my girdled head.
You could wear skate shoes to pad the top of your foot, I am going to try them out. I find the padding I got with my Hydroturf mat kit is too thin for the top of my holds. My feet come out really sore.
I saw this thing in Bermuda a few years ago. Looks like two SJ's bunked in one of the many holds.
