Years ago I used the stock box and added foam blocks superglued to battery on length and width. I then tied the straps in a knot and crisscross connected them to box on one more piece of foam block. If it works, it works imo.
A local rider with TS2 had low end breakup with a new Kawi ign coil, switched to a used Yami coil and it ran fine. Our local mechanic noticed the Yami coil had tinned wires and the new Kawi did not.

I had one of these put together by Chucky at XS, it had some decent power. These use CR500 pistons which are available in various over sizes. I sold it to Thomas Baker and then got a xs900R.
Blue aka Blueportworx runs Dominator in his Ninja 1200, pistons stay really clean, great history results and ski rips. He says his is red colored oil too.
I will say that SkiCraft oil seems to be from my experience, a low viscosity oil to start with to any changes that might have occurred. When I switched from R50 (50 weight oil) to SkiCraft, I was like wow this stuff seems like 20W or less.

My local mechanic of many years, and who worked for a Yamaha dealership says: " Lol you want the scratches as he calls it that's the whole point of honing those retain oil."
