Operationally, there is no difference from what i've read. The top deck and hood on the SN will crack under a lot of abuse (Flopped barrel rolls etc.) But you can reinforce. The SN poles are more prone to breaking as mentioned above. A member of the X offers a bracket that allows you to swap...

There is so much to list. IMO, main things you CAN check are: Compression (with a compression gauge) And that it runs, take some pre-mix and a battery or a jump box. Since you have salt near you, I would look inside the pump for pitting of the aluminum maybe... I'm not real fluent on Salty...

Since you're new and you probably don't know this.... You just got advice from the owner of the site. Not that its necessarily better than anyone elses, but the guy has been doing this..... for a minute. And he's correct. I had a JS hull to start and hopped on my buddies Square Nose 650 SJ...

Super Jet How can i lighten hood and handlepole

Factory pole is one of the lightest options. Just needs to be reinforced around the rivets. Or shorten and replace rivets with stainless screws. As mentioned, the hood is just gonna be heavy. Not much you can do besides get a new one or if you feel up to it, make a mold and build your own hood.

Super Jet Swapmeet's "Really?" RN build

So irritating when you think you just need one part to make a ton of progress, and you get that part only to realize that you need 5 more things. Not often that I do updates on the weekend, but this thread needs updates something ferocious. Last night I installed the Blaster drains. (not...

Super Jet The wth happened to this glass job

It echoes the method I mentioned in step 1. 1. Clean Bonding surfaces must be free of any contaminants such as grease, oil, wax or mold release. Clean contaminated surfaces with lacquer thinner, acetone or other appropriate solvent. Wipe the surface with paper towels before the solvent dries...

Super Jet The wth happened to this glass job

I remember someone saying that you should use the wax and grease remover before you sand, otherwise it forces the mold release from when the hull was built into the surface and causes adhesion issues. If you remember what if found in my hull this might sound familiar. Seems like acetone would...

Super Jet Exhaust coupler for RN metal pipe?

I've installed a 90*/side exhaust outlet on my RN. What do y'all reccomend for a 'coupler' to connect my existing metal exhaust tube to the 90*? They're the same dia. Maybe radiator hose?

Super Jet Picked up a Super Jet last night...First one!! (Pictures)

Yeah, clean the tank, fuel lines, filter etc before riding it. If theres crap in there, better to freshen that up vs making the carbs potentially worse.
